The Village Board voted Aug. 3 to reduce the price of 22 remaining street signs to $5 apiece and sell them on a first-come, first-served basis. Trustee Jeremy Johanek moved for the price reduction and Trustee Jim Kronschnabel seconded; the motion carried.
Clerk Kocourek reported there had been continued resident interest but sales were slower than expected following an earlier silent auction. Trustees discussed the need to clear remaining signs and accepted the lower price as a straightforward solution to dispose of excess municipal property.
The sale will proceed on a first-come, first-served basis; sales administrative details will be managed by Village staff under the clerk’s office.
