Clerk Kathy Williams asked the board to summon Tew to explain an Election Day incident in which he passed through the 50-foot chute to use a restroom despite being instructed not to. The minutes record a correction that the earlier minutes should read, "Kip Tew entered into the 50-foot chute." Member Greg Purvis stated that Tew told him after Election Day that he would do it again. Williams moved to invite Tew to appear; Purvis seconded and the motion passed.
The board noted that Tew refused a request on Election Day to call Clerk Williams after the incident. The invitation is intended to give Tew an opportunity to explain his actions before the board considers any further steps.
