At its Aug. 3 meeting the Finance Committee reviewed options to enable online payments for property taxes, utilities and licenses. Trustee Lois Kiel said the committee considered Transcendent Technologies at $350 per year and that adding online payment capability to the current Town Web site would cost an additional $1,200 per year on top of the existing $1,472 site fee.
Trustee Kiel noted that credit-card payments would impose a roughly 2.5% fee on residents and that the committee expressed concern about cost versus expected usage. The committee agreed to explore debit-card options through the Village’s bank and tabled a decision on credit-card payments until the September meeting.
Clerk Kocourek and finance members will gather additional pricing, usage projections and vendor terms for a return presentation next month.
