Whitelaw Board raises water reconnection charge to PSC-approved $40

At the Aug. 3 meeting the Village Board approved an update to the Water Utility Reconnection Charge, raising the fee from the current $30 listed in the Village fee schedule to the Public Service Commission (PSC)-approved rate of up to $40.
Trustee Beverly Linsmeier moved to increase the reconnect fee to $40.00; Trustee Barney McCulley seconded and the motion carried. The board asked staff to consider updating the fee schedule language to reference the “current PSC-approved rate” rather than a fixed dollar amount.
Clerk/Treasurer Sheena Kocourek indicated the PSC previously approved a reconnect fee of up to $40. The board recorded the motion and carried approval, but did not specify an effective date beyond the vote. Staff will update the fee schedule accordingly and ensure public notice as required.
