Administrative Director Cameron Duff said the packet for the upcoming Tuesday meeting includes a draft ballot proposition, a draft letter to the county clerk and four municipal resolutions already approved; he noted that at least 50% of municipalities must approve the proposition before it can proceed to the county ballot.
Chairwoman Christi Haswell said she supports including detailed category language on the ballot — listing purposes such as public safety, infrastructure, health, parks, archaeology, museums, senior centers, human services, industrial development and daycare — to increase transparency and help educate voters. Duff said the detailed breakdown in last year's draft had been for legal review and was not included in the current packet; the board agreed to finalize the documents and vote on them at Tuesday's meeting.
No final ballot language was adopted during the staff meeting; the board expects to vote on Resolution 26-06-053 in a subsequent meeting once municipal approvals and any final edits are in place.
