Jason, introduced by another speaker as the next presenter, gave updates on several capital projects in Le Mars, saying paving has begun at Crossroads Commons and that grading for new courts at Municipal Park is largely finished.
"They started paving east west...So, that slowly is taking shape," Jason said, describing work on north–south and east–west streets, underground infrastructure bids and staging of later construction phases. He said the original bid planned to complete underground infrastructure this year and defer some concrete work.
Jason said contractors are being asked whether they can accomplish additional scope this year, and staff are monitoring access to a shelter house used for rentals while construction continues. He listed parking-lot paving as the next visible step at Municipal Park and said crews will continue to evaluate schedules and resources.
Council members asked about traffic-light progress; Jason and others said crews are on site frequently but visible progress has been uneven. No new budget or schedule changes were adopted at this meeting.
