County awards Guidehouse contract for comprehensive HR review; two commissioners named as liaisons

Maui County's Department of Personnel Services reported Guidehouse has approved the contract for an HR systems review with a Notice to Proceed expected May 18 and kickoff June 1. Commissioners Jeeyun Lee and Sarah Pajimola were nominated as commission representatives to the RFP process.
Director Cynthia Razo-Porter told commissioners that Guidehouse has approved the contract for a comprehensive review and strategic planning of Maui County's human-resources systems and that a Notice to Proceed is intended for May 18, 2026 with a kickoff meeting on June 1, 2026 including stakeholder representatives from management, DPS, Corporation Counsel and the Civil Service Commission.
Vice-Chair Gregory Jenkins moved to nominate Commissioners Jeeyun Lee and Sarah Pajimola as the Commission's representatives for the RFP meetings and process; the motion was seconded by Commissioner Sharon Suzuki and carried unanimously. Deputy Corporation Counsel Yukari Murakami advised that, under Sunshine Law constraints, commissioners may be contacted individually by Guidehouse but no more than two commissioners should attend a meeting together.
