The Civil Service Commission for Maui County on June 3, 2026, approved a prepared performance-evaluation document for the Director of Personnel Services and agreed on next steps to finalize it.
Commissioner Sarah Pajimola submitted the final draft and said the document "has been prepared and is ready for finalization pending signatures from Commissioners Pajimola and Suzuki." The commission opened the floor to procedural discussion about formatting, length and redundancy before seeking final sign-off.
Director Cynthia Razo-Porter asked for the opportunity to provide comments on the document and raised concerns that the draft may not fully reflect future organizational needs. The Director said resources might be better directed toward initiatives tied to the RFP process and the RFP budget; commissioners asked the Director to share her specific feedback during the revision process.
No formal adoption or legal action occurred at the meeting; the Commission deferred finalization until Commissioners Pajimola and Suzuki provide signatures and the Director's input is considered. The item will return on the July 1, 2026 agenda for additional action.
