Mayor Kris Wyatt reported the city, working with the Bristow Historical Society, received a Route 66 Monument grant. The mayor said the statue is crafted for each city and will be wrapped with photographic panels of Bristow; the city is responsible for constructing the concrete pad. The council voted to place the monument at 124 W. 4th (the House Unique Building) and authorized necessary preparations.
Councilmember Jeff Roberts moved to place the monument at that site and the motion passed by roll call with Church, Fletcher, Green, Livingston and Roberts voting ‘Aye.’ The city will coordinate pad construction and confirm final monument design details.
