Council delays decision on legal services RFP until October
Summary
After discussion about budget timing and project continuity, the Bristow City Council continued consideration of proposed legal services to its October 5, 2026 meeting and accepted the city attorney's offer to coordinate with bidders on outstanding projects.
Councilmember Judd Johns asked that the Request for Proposals for legal services be tabled for 90–120 days so the council could review budgets. City Attorney Beth Anne Childs said she could help communicate council concerns to bidders and could remain on particular projects if the council wished. The council voted to continue the RFP matter to the October 5, 2026 meeting.
Mayor Kris Wyatt asked whether the attorney could stay on select projects until completion if a new firm was hired; Childs said "yes." The vote to continue the item was approved by roll call with all present voting aye.
