Energy Commission re-elects John Russell as chair; Bandazian remains vice chair

Vice Chair Chris Bandazian told members that Chair John Russell was willing to continue serving, and the commission conducted nominations and votes to confirm leadership for 2026–2027.
“John Russell was willing to continue his service as Chair,” Bandazian reported during the roll call and nominations. Matt McLaughlin moved to nominate Russell for chair; the motion was seconded and passed 7-0-0. McLaughlin subsequently nominated Bandazian to continue as vice chair and that motion likewise passed 7-0-0.
Commissioners recorded their votes in open motion form and the Commission will proceed with the confirmed leadership into the coming year.
