Commissioner Jenny Feinberg described a collaborative volunteer project at Wildwood Schoolmates in which a second‑grade Cub Scout group helped install a child‑friendly garden in the kindergarten playground.
"We planted an entirely child friendly garden," Feinberg said, noting the garden blends edible plants, sensory plantings and irrigation to minimize ongoing maintenance. The project was coordinated with site staff and preschool directors and included input from the Cub Scouts and volunteers.
Feinberg said the garden is designed for low maintenance and sensory engagement for the children. Commissioners thanked Feinberg for organizing the volunteer activity and staff said they appreciated the partnership with the troop and preschool staff.
