"We had an estimated 360 golfers come out and play, the 19 total course holes," Eva Phelan said, summarizing participation and noting the event included 10 staff‑built holes and nine community group holes. Builders included the Piedmont Makers, local nonprofits and businesses; winners were announced for categories such as 'most creative' and 'best overall.'
The event featured community partners including the Piedmont Fire and Police Departments and local school boosters. Staff said many of the creative holes were later reused at the Maker's Faire and that the department hopes next year to move toward community‑built courses for all holes.
There was brief commissioner discussion about weather, logistics and the event's upbeat tone; staff thanked volunteers and community groups for their contributions.
