HVACR distributors tell CSLB they oppose direct CEC reporting of customer lists, propose third‑party clearinghouse

He said the trade association submitted an alternative to the CEC that would use a third‑party clearinghouse to aggregate and anonymize data before submission to the CEC.
Titus asked CSLB enforcement committee members to revisit the board's prior discussion of the CEC data collection and to consider whether CSLB should take a formal position or study the alternative aggregation model proposed by distributors. He framed the issue as balancing permit‑compliance and energy‑forecasting goals against protected commercial information, and he offered to provide the association's alternative proposal to staff for consideration.
