CSLB committees consider pilot cities, League outreach and API to improve detection of unlicensed contractors

"We've reached out to the League of California Cities... It might be an opportunity to establish or identify some pilot cities," Folk said.
Committee members proposed working with the 36 cities surveyed as a starting point, offering a building‑officials guide and webinars to help local staff check CSLB license records at permit intake. Several members also suggested exploring an API for quarterly local reporting to the state and partnerships with retailers and online platforms for public‑education pop‑ups. IT staff said a technology investment would be required to support expanded automatic data ingestion from multiple local jurisdictions.
