Staff reports: PHS multimedia studio, SVPP grant meetings, special-education caseloads and online enrollment

District staff used the March 3 meeting to update the board on programs and operations across CCASD.

Chief Education Officer Dave Dirksen said he attended an ADE webinar on a new School Report Cards reporting category, continued weekly meetings on the School Violence Prevention Program (SVPP) grant, drafted curriculum documents for gifted education, and approved a Ponderosa High School "No School Snow Day" for Feb. 14, 2025. Les Hauer described Ponderosa High School's work with KAFF radio and preparation of a multimedia studio, attendance at security-audit and digital-innovation events, and a completed fire inspection on Feb. 18, 2025.

Traci Parker reported a Service-Learning Day (Feb. 13, 2025) with community partners, building fire-inspection activity, recruitment efforts for special-education staff, an Alternative School application submitted to ADE, and ongoing Eggstatic grant distributions (six to seven dozen eggs weekly). John Phelps provided Quarter 3 special-education counts by site (Jail: 0; Juvenile Detention: 4; Ponderosa: 8; Tse'Yaato: 7; CCASD Online: 2) and noted the start of AZELLA spring reassessment. Emily Morton reported CCASD Online enrollment at 25 students for Spring 2025 Quarter 3, with 11 students graduated in December 2024 and five pending enrollments for Quarter 4.

These reports were provided as part of the consent agenda's written reports; several items will return for further action (gifted scope-and-sequence, calendars, NREL contracts) on future agendas.
