The Coconino County Accommodation School District Governing Board approved an updated food service agreement on Oct. 2 that will enroll Ponderosa High School in the federal school food program and continue the district’s interim arrangement with Flagstaff Unified School District Food Service. Board President Cheryl Mango-Paget recorded the approval during the action portion of the meeting.
Ponderosa Principal Les Hauer described the contract as a continuation of the interim arrangement and said staff will encourage families to apply for reduced- and free-lunch benefits. "The contract was a continuation of the interim contract," Hauer said, adding that the meals "now served were larger and better" and that the agreement will allow lunch to be served at the T school site. The board did not discuss any additional financial terms in the public minutes.
