The City Council on July 20 accepted Change Order No. 2 for the Stockade Road Improvement Project, approving an adjusted contract total of $395,940.50 for Paul Reed Construction & Supply to cover shoulder repairs, additional erosion-control blanket and seeding needed after storm damage.
City Manager Tom Menke told the council the work was necessary to stabilize the roadway shoulder and that the contractor will be responsible for watering newly seeded areas to encourage vegetation growth. Menke said the Nebraska Department of Transportation will reimburse the remaining costs associated with the change order except for the City's share related to street lighting improvements. The resolution (No. 2026-60) passed unanimously.
