Borough staff and Councilor Brian Osborn met with Municipal Benefit Services to examine switching the borough’s employee health insurance from Benecon to MBS. Manager Cindy Wells said updated rate information will arrive Oct. 15; the council approved a conditional motion to change providers for 2025 only if estimated termination (run-out) costs would not exceed $42,000.
The conditional motion was moved by Councilor Brian Osborn and seconded by Councilor Steadman. Riley Cross and James Kerns recorded abstentions; the minutes note the motion nonetheless carried. Staff will obtain termination-cost estimates and the new premium data before making a final administrative determination.
