Union City Borough Council on Oct. 7 approved spending $39,060.20 from American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to pay for stormwater repairs in Municipal Lot #1 and to close a catch basin in Hogan’s Alley.
Borough Manager Cindy Wells told the council the total ARPA allocation is $194,413, of which $160,000 has been designated toward the Willow Street Bridge (with $25,000 already spent), leaving a related balance of about $59,413. Councilor Joyce moved the ARPA spending motion; Councilor Steadman seconded and the motion carried unanimously. The authorization covers the stormwater work itemized by borough staff.
