Streets Supervisor Bob Phillips and borough engineering counsel reported on a sinkhole affecting Municipal Lot #1 and recommended replacing a 24-inch clay tile, reconnecting piping, installing a larger catch basin adjacent to the sinkhole and replacing about 10 feet of pipe. Two bids were presented: Mansfield at $22,295 and McLallen Construction at $23,450.
Councilor Steadman moved and Councilor Osborn seconded a motion to accept Mansfield's estimate and proceed; the motion carried unanimously. The minutes record that the Borough must provide a truck during the project. The council did not record a project schedule in the minutes; the Streets Supervisor described the scope and recommended lining the pipe in four sections per consultant recommendations.
