The board debated whether to restrict generative AI in fair merchandise and competition entries.
Erinn proposed banning use of text‑prompt generative AI in items the fair sells and Phyllis seconded the motion, but the motion failed. The board instead voted to add a Generative AI classification into the Art division of the Premium Book and to discourage use of AI in other classes and fair advertising.
The board also discussed a related suggestion that all art used by the Fair be approved by the board before use in promotional materials. No enforcement mechanism was recorded at the meeting.
