Commission approves full-time environmental programs analyst with Recology funding support
Summary
The commission approved upgrading a part-time environmental programs analyst to full time after additional funding from Recology; the position will report to the environmental programs manager within public works.
Staff told the commission that additional funding from Recology made it possible to convert a previously proposed part-time environmental programs analyst position into a full-time role to support regulatory compliance, policy development and monitoring in public works.
"We were fortunate to receive some additional funding from Recology, and, be able to upgrade this to a full time position," staff said. The position will be overseen by the environmental programs manager within public works (staff indicated John Dowdy is the public-works director overseeing the area). A motion to approve the full-time environmental programs analyst job description and salary range was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote without recorded opposition.
Staff said the full-time position will help the city meet documentation and compliance duties related to storm drains and other environmental regulations; hiring will proceed consistent with established recruitment and classification processes.
