PAISD honors students and community volunteers at Dec. 10 meeting

The Port Aransas Independent School District board heard three recognition presentations during its Dec. 10 meeting that highlighted student achievement and community volunteer support.
Tisha Piwetz presented the district’s Legacy of Excellence Champions. James Garrett and Dr. David Swartwout presented winners of the Port Aransas Art Show, and George Lerma presented UTMSI Science Fair winners. The minutes record presentations but do not list individual awardees or project titles.
Board members used the remarks portion of the agenda to thank volunteers and staff. Daniel Johnson said, "Career Day was incredible; Gabe Littleton and Kate Low did an amazing job start to finish and made everyone feel incredibly welcomed." Board President Kristi Littleton added, "Ditto on that, the food made for the guest was homemade and tasted wonderful."
