Floodwood WBWF Committee reviews 2024 plan, assigns staff to refine SMART goals

The Floodwood Public School District WBWF Committee met at the Floodwood School Media Center on Dec. 12, 2024. The meeting was called to order at 7:48 a.m., and the committee recorded a roll call of attendees including Leanaya Miller, Tanya Johnson, Sue Hoeft, James Pavlek, Lisa Dusek, Maria Manner, Joy Jones, Kerri Gillespie, Amanda Fjeld and Ashley Engh. The group reviewed notes from the Oct. 24, 2024 WBWF meeting.
Committee members reviewed the 2024 CACR/WBW plan that was submitted to MDE and discussed adjustments to the SMART goals for the 2024–25 school year. Principal Amanda Fjeld was assigned to research specific CTE-related goals to add under the objective "All Students are College and Career Ready by Graduation." The committee also noted that the new standard, "Prepare Students to be Lifelong Learners," will require additional work to define a measurable target. Superintendent Sue Hoeft and Principal Fjeld will examine data obtained for "Sabers" and consider whether a learning assessment could help identify appropriate goal types; Hoeft is expected to update the committee with findings.
The committee said the next meeting date will be set at the district's Organizational Meeting in January 2025. The meeting adjourned at 8:15 a.m.
