The Mendocino County Office of Education announced the launch of "Schools Rule," a countywide fundraising initiative aimed at collecting resources for students across Mendocino County public schools. The superintendent told trustees that Sonoma Clean Power provided an initial $20,000 contribution to seed the effort.
According to the superintendent, the fund will distribute money annually based on enrollment and is not intended to replace or compete with local school-level fundraising. "Sonoma Clean Power, contributed $20,000," the superintendent said while describing the kickoff and the organization's role as an early donor. Board members thanked organizers and encouraged sharing on social media to build visibility and further contributions.
Staff said contributions can be made online and that funds would be disbursed to serve students across all public schools in the county, subject to compliance with school spending laws and codes.
