The Mendocino County Office of Education board reapproved the revised School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) after staff reported they had addressed findings from recent federal program monitoring. Dr. Nicole Wardell and staff described adjustments to school-site council membership ratios, ballot procedures, improved budgeting detail, and strengthened communication about metrics used to measure program effectiveness.
Chris Francis said the team worked to rebuild the site council and had successfully fielded a president, vice president and secretary despite a small student population, noting, "we have about 17 students in total." The plan was moved and seconded and carried by majority vote.
Board members and staff said the revisions were necessary to comply with the federal monitoring process and to improve ongoing communication and documentation at the site level. The approved plan will be reflected in the district's files and the county office's program monitoring records.
