Millbrook neighbor asks township to convene engineers over storm sewer run close to property line

John Boyle, who said he has lived on Canterbury Drive in Millbrook Farms for 38 years, told the board Aug. 6 that a proposed 36‑inch storm sewer for the Cove at Millbrook runs within five to eight feet of his hemlock trees and that the required trench and subsequent grading will cut major roots and likely kill the trees.
"So the trench is basically going to cut through all of the roots of the hemlocks... it's 36 inch diameter," Boyle said, asking that the township arrange a meeting with the developer, the township engineer and the developer’s engineer to consider moving the alignment further from his property line. Manager Bruce and solicitor Mark Fisher told Boyle the approved plan dated to 2024 and that the township’s recourse is limited if the developer follows approved plans; staff said they would follow up and facilitate contact with the developer.
