The Lower Macungie Township Board of Commissioners voted Aug. 6 to authorize advertisement of an ordinance amending Chapter 27 of the township zoning code to revise accessory uses and certain regulations for solar panels, fences and walls. Planner Nate Jones said the edits are administrative in nature, compiled by the zoning officer, community development staff, the township solicitor and the township engineer to make enforcement clearer.
"We have compiled another edit for consideration by the board to assist our staff to be able to enforce and administrate our zoning code better," Nate said. The board moved and seconded the item and approved authorizing advertisement; no public objections were raised during that agenda item. The board indicated the measure will return for a public hearing after the advertisement period.
