On Sept. 22 the Hill City School Board voted to set the Proposed Levy Limitation and Certification for 2025 (payable in 2026) "at the maximum," following a recommendation from Superintendent Max Torgerson.
The board also set the Truth in Taxation meeting for Dec. 15 at 6:30 p.m. in the Hill City School Community Ed Room and read the required public notice: "This is a public announcement that the Truth in Taxation Meeting will be held on December 15th at 6:30 p.m. at the Hill City School Community Ed Room, at which time the budget and levy will be discussed and the public will be allowed to speak." The motion to set the levy and schedule the meeting passed by roll call 6-0.
The minutes do not include a line-item levy amount, only that the district will certify at the maximum allowed; the Truth in Taxation meeting will provide the public opportunity to review and comment on the proposed levy.
