At the Feb. 24 meeting the Odessa School District board accepted personnel resignations that were included on the consent agenda and approved a one-year leave of absence for MTSS intervention specialist Charlie King.
The consent agenda recorded the resignations of Abby Horak (high-school girls head basketball coach) and Alex Stanford (junior-high head volleyball coach/junior-high girls head basketball coach). Later in the meeting the board approved Alex Stanford for a different position, hiring Stanford as high-school assistant volleyball coach.
Separately, the board approved a one-year leave of absence for Charlie King, moved by Zach Schafer and seconded by Nicholas Sebesta; motion carried 4-0. The board also approved the spring-sports coaching roster and instructed administration to complete required onboarding steps for incoming coaches.
