Education Minnesota, Menahga Paraprofessionals met with Superintendent Jay Kjos and School Board negotiators Katie Howard and Cherie Peterson in the Menahga Public School District conference room on Dec. 17, 2025. The meeting was called to order at 4:41 p.m., and the union presented a list of 12 items it wants considered in the next contract, ranging from personnel-file notification to changes in the salary schedule.
After a caucus at 5:50 p.m., the meeting resumed at 6:20 p.m., when Superintendent Jay Kjos presented the district financials for the current agreement. The minutes record that the union prioritized health insurance, stipends and pay differentials, and 403(b) contributions as its primary considerations. The meeting adjourned at 6:38 p.m.
