DELAC presents end-of-year report on services for English Learners

Assistant Superintendent Julie McBride presented the DELAC end-of-year report, describing DELAC's advisory responsibilities and annual discussion topics related to English Learner identification, ELPAC testing, reclassification procedures, parent notifications, the English Learner Master Plan and the Local Control and Accountability Plan.
Mrs. McBride also updated trustees on English Learner enrollment trends, reclassification rates, newcomer student enrollment and summer intervention options intended to support student achievement. The DELAC president was scheduled to attend but canceled due to a family obligation; the Board thanked Mrs. McBride for the report.
