The Sulphur Springs Union School District Board of Trustees voted unanimously May 13 to adopt the State‑updated Level 1 developer fee schedule under Resolution R‑26‑16. Trustees approved the measure by voice vote (Weinstein, Chase, DeFigueiredo and Jellings; Trustee Lori MacDonald was absent).
Ken Reynolds of SchoolWorks presented the District’s Level 1 Developer Fee Justification Study, outlining projected residential development, student generation rates, facility impacts and the state funding factors used to calculate allowable Level 1 fees. The public hearing on the fee was opened and closed by Board President Shelley Weinstein after no written or verbal comments were received. The adoption implements the fee schedule updated every two years by the State Allocation Board.
The action was taken as part of a package of developer fee items considered that evening; the Board later also approved an alternative Level 2 schedule (Resolution R‑26‑17).
