Following a discussion of the survey and community preferences, "the motion was made by Mrs. MacDonald, seconded by Mr. DeFigueiredo, and passed 3-2 by roll call vote, to approve the Bobcat as the mascot for Skyline Ranch Community School." Ayes were Mrs. MacDonald, Mr. DeFigueiredo and Mrs. Weinstein; Mrs. Jellings and Mr. Chase voted no.
Board members discussed the importance of choosing a mascot that would represent the school community. The district will move forward with branding and related materials for the new school based on the Board's decision. The school is scheduled to open in August 2028; district staff did not provide a timeline for finalized logos or uniform designs at the meeting.
