In the director’s report under new business, staff said the Flores Acres annexation — intended to provide city sewer services for failing septic systems — is nearing completion and that an adoption ordinance will go to City Council the coming Monday. "I'll be going to council on Monday, this coming Monday, with an ordinance for them to adopt that finalizes the annexation process," the Director (S1) said. Staff noted subsequent coordination with the Office of Financial Management and Secretary of State for finalization of the annexation.
Staff described the annexation as a collaborative effort with the county and the neighborhood HOA and said maps will be updated to show Flores Acres within city limits once the annexation is finalized. The director said sequencing will allow the annexation to be reflected in the final comprehensive-plan maps.
