Director Joe Lambert explained that ADUs generally range from roughly 500 to 1,200 square feet, can be attached or detached, and the city now offers preapproved ADU plans to speed permitting.
Associate planner Leslie Whitaker outlined that businesses without a local office or storefront submit a license application to the finance department, while home-based businesses need a home-occupation permit from Development Services before applying for a business license. Staff emphasized coordination with Fire & Life Safety and that storefronts require building and zoning approvals before inspection and licensing.
