City outlines emergency alerts, apps and social channels for residents

Placentia's communications and marketing manager, Nicolette Droulias, reminded residents of multiple ways to receive city alerts and updates. She explained how to sign up for Nixle alerts (text 92870 to 888777), download the iPlacentia app to report issues, and use PulsePoint to receive critical incident alerts. "Whether you prefer texts, apps, websites, or social media, we've got you covered," Droulias said.
She also encouraged following the city's accounts on X, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube and subscribing to the weekly e-newsletter by emailing CAweekly@placentia.org to receive Thursday updates. The guidance is intended to streamline how residents receive traffic, emergency and community information and to increase public participation in city services.
