Salvation Army highlights navigation center progress to Placentia council

Major Ken Preen, who runs the Salvation Army in Orange County, told the council the Placentia navigation center is intended as transitional housing and described three clients to show program outcomes: one completing technical training for employment, one receiving medical assistance and updating a resume, and another maintaining sobriety and participating in community supports.
"He's committed to his goals and working on finishing up so he can find a job and then move out," Preen said of one client, and he asked council to continue its partnership with the Salvation Army to sustain successful exits from shelter to housing and employment. Council thanked the organization for its work and the guests who attended were recognized in the audience.
