Katy Frey, ambulance operations coordinator for Allina EMS, told the Prescott Area Fire and EMS Association on June 24 that Allina is experiencing ongoing staffing challenges and is bringing two full‑time equivalents on board within the week.
Frey said Allina plans to hire an additional 4–5 employees before the end of the year to “catch up with staffing demands,” according to the minutes. The update was given during the board’s ambulance operations report. The board discussed operations but made no formal motion on staffing at the meeting. The association’s overall 2026 response-time average, reported elsewhere on the agenda, was 9 minutes, 11 seconds.
