Wrenshall School Board approves FY2024 audit, series of routine motions and authorizes construction projects

The Wrenshall Board of Education accepted the district’s FY2024 independent auditor’s report and carried a series of routine business motions during its Dec. 10 regular meeting. The motion to accept the auditor’s report, presented by auditor Rob Ganschow of Wipfli, LLC, was made by Nicole Krisak and seconded by Eric Ankrum and recorded as carried on a 6–0 vote.
Directors also canvassed and certified the school election results, moved a resolution to purchase a propane bus, and approved the finance and human resources calendar for fiscal year 2025. Each of these motions was recorded as carried unanimously (Eric Ankrum: Yea; Misty Bergman: Yea; Mary Carlson: Yea; Ben Johnson: Yea; Alice Kloepfer: Yea; Nicole Krisak: Yea).
The board approved a letter to the Carlton Board of Education indicating the Wrenshall board stands ready to meet about potential consolidation and added Policy 902.1 (Community Use of School Facilities) to the review cycle, moving Policy 902.1 to a third and final reading. The board accepted several donations enumerated in the packet and approved multiple personnel actions including hiring requests and schedule C appointments.
On a related motion the board authorized the superintendent to review and approve agreements for high school construction-class winter projects with nonprofit housing agencies; the motion (made by Nicole Krisak and seconded by Eric Ankrum) was recorded as carried 6–0. Board minutes note the committee intends to develop a pre-approval protocol before expanding approvals for individual projects.
The meeting concluded with scheduling announcements for upcoming public hearings and the board’s adjournment at 7:53 p.m.
