District outlines enrichment and ACT targets to increase representation of Black students

At the Jan. 27 work session, district staff presented Goal #2 metrics focused on enrichment participation and college-readiness measures.
Slides showed enrichment enrollment change targets by grade band (elementary, middle, high) with example figures in the 4'' 6 percentage-point range for recent baselines and targets. The presenter also listed an ACT composite target for Black students (2022 Black 25% to target 30% composite on ACT), with 2024 actual reported at 24% in the slides.
Presenter cautioned that disaggregated group sizes for some collaboration programs (for example, Orono collaborations) are too small to report publicly without risking student privacy; several items were marked "N/A" or "New Baseline" while the district establishes reliable measures.
The presenter emphasized enrichment here means school-day offerings such as honors and AP courses and noted the district will track participation and disaggregate by race/ethnicity and free/reduced-price status where possible.
The slides did not propose new funding allocations during the session and no board motion was recorded.
