Superintendent Glen Szymoniak and Janet Melsness, the district's director of business services, presented the Klamath County School District's budget message and connected it to the district's strategic plan and associated goals.
The presentation reviewed budget challenges and highlights for 2025–26. Meeting minutes record that "the biggest fear at this point is the loss of Title 1 federal funds. If the district loses that funding, there is no way to replace it," a risk staff identified during the budget presentation. Staff advised committee members to continue sending follow-up questions to Mrs. Melsness by email.
A copy of the presentation will be attached to the board packet when available; the budget committee scheduled a follow-up meeting May 14, 2025 to continue deliberations.
