Spring City commissioners unanimously approve minutes, table three items and authorize two BCBS plan options

Spring City commissioners convened a special call meeting on Sept. 26, 2024 at the Spring City Fire/Police Annex and recorded a full roll call. The commission voted unanimously to approve the Sept. 5, 2024 meeting minutes.
The board voted, with all members present voting Aye, to table Resolution 2024‑17 (a proposed resolution of support and commitment to apply for a Tennessee Agriculture Enhancement Program community tree planting grant) "for further information." The commission also tabled a vote awarding the City Hall AC replacement bid and asked that all bidders appear at the Oct. 3 meeting at 7:00 p.m. for discussion. Submitted bids were: Goins Heating and Air — $34,500.00; Elite HVAC LLC — $28,416.00; Action Heating and Cooling — $28,186.00. Commissioners additionally tabled the proposal to paint the exterior of the Spring City Depot and asked Public Works Director Jason Yuhas to provide an in‑house cost estimate.
On personnel benefits, the commission approved proceeding with offering two Blue Cross and Blue Shield options, Plan S or Plan P; the motion notes that employees who choose Plan P (the buy‑up plan) will be responsible for paying the difference. The minutes list the increase in the plan as $81.86 per month. All recorded motions in the minutes passed with unanimous Aye votes from Commissioners Beaver, Jenkins, Murphy, Vice‑Mayor Bauer and Mayor Locke.
