Spring City Tourism Commission approves bylaws date and elects officers

The Spring City Tourism and Events Commission on Sept. 24 accepted its Aug. 27, 2024 minutes and confirmed that the commission's by-laws go into effect Oct. 1, 2024.
The meeting also settled leadership for the upcoming term. Robbie Harvey was nominated and approved to serve as chairman, Ricki Dash was approved as vice chairman and Candy Harris was approved as secretary; nominations were seconded and passed unanimously. The roll-call-style approval followed a short discussion comparing the new by-laws to the city ordinance and scheduling the officers' terms to begin Oct. 1, 2024.
Commissioners said the governance changes were timed to align with the fall event season and the Oct. 1 effective date for the by-laws. The commission set its next meeting for Oct. 22, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. and recorded a quorum at the Sept. 24 meeting, which began at 6:39 p.m. and adjourned at 8:33 p.m.
