Board discusses travel, conferences and upcoming online safety webinar

Chair Blake Petersen told the board the district is scheduling an online safety webinar for Nov. 4 and noted OSBA regional and convention meetings later in October and November. Members discussed the National School Boards Association (NSBA) conference and said they prefer the more focused CUBE conference; Chair Petersen asked staff to prepare estimated travel costs per member for consideration.
Board members asked that an agenda item be prepared to consider a board travel policy so the board can weigh conference attendance and costs. Chair Petersen also noted several student events in mid-December that board members would like to attend if schedules permit.
