During the budget discussion the committee recorded that the Book Nook program will not continue in 2025–26 and Kindergarten Jump Start is no longer funded. Director of Business Services Janet Melsness and other staff indicated that district kindergarten resources will instead focus on Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP).
Board member Brooke Kliewer asked where teacher mentors are reflected in the budget; staff said those positions are funded through the Student Investment Account (SIA) and Title II allocations. No motion was needed for these program changes; they were recorded as part of the budget conversation.
