District outlines corrective actions after Division 22 compliance gaps in dyslexia screening, health services and PE reporting

Heidi Lasher, Executive Director of Teaching and Learning, reviewed the district's Division 22 Assurances of Compliance for the 2024–25 school year and identified three areas where the district was not in compliance: universal dyslexia-risk screenings, a staff-handbook notification on how to respond to medical emergencies, and the PE reporting/data-entry requirement.
"Mrs. Lasher shared that the district is in compliance with all Division 22 standards with the exception of universal screenings for risk factors of dyslexia, health services, and report on PE data," she told the board and outlined corrective steps: adding a November family screening for students at risk of dyslexia, adding written emergency-notification language to the staff handbook, and entering PE minutes/capacity data into the district digital records system.
Lasher also summarized waivers currently in place, including waivers for the essential-skills graduation assessment and for English Learner assessments through 2027–28, and explained upcoming rule changes that the district is preparing to implement (SEED survey, ELPA screener and updated administrator evaluation standards tied to the Professional Standards for Educational Leadership and TSPC). Board members requested clarification of corrective timelines and where public documentation of the assurances report can be found on the district website.
