Board hears update on new state standards and upcoming diploma adoptions

Elementary Coordinator Amy Lesan, Middle School Coordinator Kim Johnson, and High School Coordinator Nikki McFarland presented an update on new state standards and upcoming curriculum adoptions at the Jan. 9 meeting.
The staff presentation covered state standards changes and how the district plans to approach upcoming diploma requirements and curriculum selections; the written report is included in the district’s official information packet and will be archived with the 2024–25 board records.
Board members engaged with the presenters during the discussion but no formal votes were taken on curriculum at this meeting.
