Bonanza parent Ashley Trushell appeared in person during the public comment period to press the board to prioritize repaving and striping the Bonanza School parking lot in the district's upcoming budget. Trushell said sidewalk work planned under the Safe Routes to Schools initiative cannot proceed until the parking area is properly paved and marked and submitted a letter of support from the Klamath County Board of Commissioners.
A different public commenter, Mazama parent Kate Kennel, had signed up in advance but did not appear at the meeting. The board did not take immediate action on the request; the item was entered into the record for future budget consideration.
